These are my pretty poodoos very glad to have me home again,
after our Parker colo trip for Christmas.
When they realized we were home,
Joon was just a silly clown jumping & smiling.
Running/ scooting with her tail end all scrunched down.
Jazz had a worried look on her face and stuck to me
like glue, anytime i got up
to move around in the house.
Dont leave me again momma!!!!
It is nice to be so loved.
Notice my new do. I dont quite have the hang of
fighting those curls and drying it straight
like the Parker CO stylist did.

This is a few days after surgery #2 that was done on new year's eve.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! Dr Bruce Heck removed the pin that went thru
both bones. it was pristine. not the slightest bend in it. he said i had
been a very good girl to stay off it so well. it also made it much easier
to remove. then, as the swelling subsided around my outside ankle
(lateral maelleola), i could really feel the lowest screw that didnt get
seated onto the hole of the plate flat enough. it was going to
rub on every shoe and boot i wore. so he nicely removed that one
for me. so now, the count is only 6 screws and one plate. the rest
i think i will be fine tolerating. he hopes i can, to help keep that poor
broken up bone supported. but if not, he can remove them down
the road.

this is where the I.V. for the drugs was administered. the nurse
really bruised me this time. sorry, i didnt hold the camera still enough
to get a clear picture of the rainbow of color there.
Dr Heck said i really had to have drugs
to put me so sleep...or i wouldnt hold still enough.

this is my first day home from surgery #2. Joon is very very tuned into people
and how they are feeling. she just wanted to lay close to me and keep touching
me. Notice my new tattoo...just kidding. Dr Bruce marked my left leg and circled the
2 screws to come out. after he had carefully done that...i said...that looks nice..but
did you realize, it is my right leg??? he belly laughed. i am sure he hears that lots.
but he nicely laughed anyway.

This was my big exciting new method of transportation.
Our lay-over on the return trip home was cincinnati
to dayton on a little puddle hopper.
it didnt even get to pull up to the jetway chute.
so we had to walk across the tarmack and board
up the stairs. Z had an excellent opportunity
to make the connection from the planes he sees in the sky,
to actually climbing into one and taking off.
the other planes that we boarded from the jetway,
didnt let him see the plane he was getting onto.
the airport crews would not let jim handle me.
they finally said,
sir, please go take your seat on the plane,
we will take good care of your wife.
the men that brought up this lift thingy looked like
they were very excited to get to play with their "toy".
they wheeled me to the pad, then lifted me and one employee,
right up to the plane's door. pretty slick, and very fun,
if not a bit embarrassing.
just a note. i was the only wheelchairee
on the way out to denver.
on the plane coming home there were 10 of us!!!!!
people were always asking me, while in denver,
"so, were you trying to ski a black diamond?"
it was fun replying, "nope. i did this back in ohio
where there isnt even a mogul."

i wish we had gotten a picture of us at the airports with all our stuff. jim commented that we looked like the beverly hill billies moving in. 6 or 7 suitcases. lots of diaper bag typecarryons. a stroller, a walker, a wheelchair, a carseat strapped on eric's back.

Z loved the various means of transport he experienced, some for the first time. The car ride to dayton airport. the people mover to our gate. the actual plane ride to atlanta, then another plane ride to denver. at denver,it is huge and to go from east to west terminals, you take a train. complete with train sounds piped thru a PA. Z knows lots of words and sounds to go with transportationso it was very fun watching him enjoying the rides and expressing himself. WOO WOOO....aaaall aboard!!!!

This was our last day with Amy and JJ. Brewer did want to lose
his toy-thrower. and amy didnt want her adorable nephew to leave.
We had a very happy time inspite of a sick 2-year old, a pregnant lady,
and an old cripple lady. We all laughed alot and certainly relaxed.
Their home is so pretty and comfortable. And they are a gracious
host and hostess. We warned them, we will want to come back soon.

Jim is in the front, Eric is off to the side and behind. Justin usually skis backward while videoing and singing or whistling at the same time. He has also been known to veer off from us, without warning, and go off the ski trail thru dense pine forests and big drop-off cliffs.

thus the rule, "DO NOT FOLLOW JUSTIN!!!"

SCHUSS anyone???
On saturday, after Christmas, Z was finally well enough, & Eric felt
he could leave Monica to get a little bit of skiing in. (They had taken
Z to the Emergency room Christmas day, to recheck his ear infection,
as he seemed to be a bit worse. )
They looked pretty darn happy here, didnt they? I had only 2 rules for Jim,
DO NOT FOLLOW JUSTIN ANYWHERE HE SKIIS. AND,
DONT COME HOME IF YOU HURT YOURSELF. JUST KIDDING.
(THO, NOT ABOUT THE PART REGARDING NOT FOLLOWING JUSTIN!!!)

What a lovely scene. cuddle time at numa place. Brewer loved Z,
and stuck pretty close to him at all times,
cuz Z never tired of throwing Brewer's toys. And that is what
Brewer lives for.

This is our trip to the excellent aquarium in denver.
we happily spent several hours there. Monica, while helping
Z to stick his hands in star fish and manta ray pools, had some
trouble with the fishy smell and her late 1st tri-mester queasiness.
But whatta mom, she hung in there to help Z enjoy playing in the
water and petting the sea creatures.

This woman kept trying to pet the sharks, and feed them.
We have several photos of her doing this,
and she still had all her fingers at that time.

"There are so many amazing things to look at, sigh!!!!!
I wuvs da fishies."

"I can see so much more when i am tall.
thanks for the lift , daddy."

This is Z's immitation of a fish when asked,
"what does a fish say?"

WHOOPS!!!!

Tho light setting is too dark. If you turn your lights off, you might be able to see better. it is Z playing with the key chain i got JJ. It is called The F@rt Master.

It is such hard work being a 2 year old on Christmas

Eric and Z will love their slot car race track.
Zach is already getting the hang of it.
and is very careful with the cars.
He is his Dad's son!!!!

Grammy loves seeing her kids together.
Zach loves his Aunt Amy.

All the dogs and the cats love Zach,
and it is mutual.

This will take some explaining.
No, Z is not giving HIS presidential address
like Amy did.
He is playing with JJ's F@rt Master Key chain
complete with 6 buttons of various examples of....
er...ya....You guessed it...
a disgustingly funny and totally useless thing I found.
When Z pushes one of the buttons and hears the "noise",
he jumps up and puts his hands up and says...."whoops!!"
This feat takes alot of coordination.
I hope to post the video of this action.

Grampy loves watching Zach play.

I am thrilled with the beautiful emerald and
silver engraved, bracelet
commemorating Holly's Top Ten at
Quarter Horse Congress 2007.
A very special gift from Amy and JJ.

warm stuff for mommy and her bun in the oven

Eric still likes getting Legos and RC cars. This one is anti-gravity and can race from the floor right up the walls.

Justin needed some horsie clothes.

Zach likes puzzles, especially ones with sounds.
vroom vroom, beep beep.

Monica enjoying or wondering

about joining the Ferguson Clan????

Santa puppy and his little elves

Keyser the big black poodle loves playing dress-up. not so sure are the 2 minis.

Amy's and JJ's lovely home made all festive for us.

Their 2 mini aussies love opening presents, too!
The merle is boy Lablatts Brewer.
the black is Moxie Crime Fighter.

JJ's idea of the ideal Christmas gift might
not be what Amy's is.....hmmmmmmmm.

Here is a guy with way too much time

But, Amy, you have to give him brownie points
for effort and originality.
JJ went thru the whole michael phelps book
using post-it notes for the glue so amy could
remove all the JJ faces off the actual Michael
faces...tho she never will!!!!!!
Mr. Harmonica Man. Riding in a car with Z is
always entertaining.

Z has come to realize that we all wear
Okley Sunglasses, so, of course,
he wants to, also. But
one pair isnt enough.
He wears his and his daddy's.
and loves to put them on top of his head like
we all do.
monkey see monkey do.

When Z sees a horse, he says,
"YEE....HAW!!!!"
as we left the airport on the way to Amy's, we
passed lots of horse farms...and horse pens full of horses. Zach saw a pen (corral) with about
20 horses in it and he took a very very big
long breath and let out one very big, long
and loud as he could,
"YEEEEEEEEE.........HHHHAAAAWWWWW!!!"
Then he was OUT LIKE A LIGHT!!!....
ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

Zach immediately warmed up to Uncle JJ.

who can resist JJ's boyish charm??

not any 2 year old boy!!!!

Their kitchen looks so pretty and interesting after much redoing.

Now if they will just start cooking in it.

We sure did. what fun. A family that cooks together......

Denver Christmas 08

Our 1st morning in Denver(Parker), Amy treated me to a makeover. hair color and cut and styling.
monica went with us. Lots of giggling and fun.
Amy wants me to wear my hair straight which i can more easily in dry colorado. the curls rebel in humid ohio. jim especially loved my new do
and new look!!!!!

nov 11, 2008.

22 mo old Zachary loves to play

race car with my wheelie chair

great grammma juice loaned me.

the pretty poodles jazz and joon

like to cheer the race team on.

this is a BOOT OF DOOM.
we now have 3 in the family.
if anyone needs one...call justin
or jim or me. we have a variety.
justins is hard used...and might be
too stinky.
but all are for the left leg.
mine has no wear on the bottom so far
as i have not been allowed to bear weight
these first 3 months.
and it is not stinky as my feet smell
sweet as clover.
i devised a way to close as few straps
as possible. so the 3 that go over my
shin are lapped behind and not
across the top. for faster easier on and off.

also taken dec 1 2008,
this is my scar.
not too bad.
i wanted to put a daisy tattoo
on the top of the scar line
as it looks like a flower stem to me.
but enuf of needle pokes for me.

this was taken on dec 1.
9 weeks after the injury.
it compares normal right foot.
if you can call anything about
my feet normal...to the injured
left foot.
it is still swollen on top and toes
where i pulled every ligament in there
and numb and painful.
i also bruised bones on the bottom of
my foot. so it is swollen and sore there
as well. my mom always said give
it your all. never settle for average.
