Our lay-over on the return trip home was cincinnati
to dayton on a little puddle hopper.
it didnt even get to pull up to the jetway chute.
so we had to walk across the tarmack and board
up the stairs. Z had an excellent opportunity
to make the connection from the planes he sees in the sky,
to actually climbing into one and taking off.
the other planes that we boarded from the jetway,
didnt let him see the plane he was getting onto.
the airport crews would not let jim handle me.
they finally said,
sir, please go take your seat on the plane,
we will take good care of your wife.
the men that brought up this lift thingy looked like
they were very excited to get to play with their "toy".
they wheeled me to the pad, then lifted me and one employee,
right up to the plane's door. pretty slick, and very fun,
if not a bit embarrassing.
just a note. i was the only wheelchairee
on the way out to denver.
on the plane coming home there were 10 of us!!!!!
people were always asking me, while in denver,
"so, were you trying to ski a black diamond?"
it was fun replying, "nope. i did this back in ohio
where there isnt even a mogul."
i wish we had gotten a picture of us at the airports with all our stuff. jim commented that we looked like the beverly hill billies moving in. 6 or 7 suitcases. lots of diaper bag typecarryons. a stroller, a walker, a wheelchair, a carseat strapped on eric's back.
